Council for Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility

The Council for Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility (CSS Mongolia) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2015 through the initiative of experts from Mongolia’s leading mining companies, as well as professionals in sustainable development, environmental management, community engagement, social responsibility, and public relations. CSS Mongolia was founded with the mission to promote and integrate best practices—both international and local—in sustainable development and corporate social responsibility within the country’s mining sector.

Our projects

2022

In framework of the UNDP’s Environmental Governance Programme, a country report of Mongolia "Women and the Mine of the Future " has been published in Mongolian language. The information of this research is very valuable as it compiles the basic gender data in Mongolia's mining industry for the last 10 years (2010-2020).

2021

CSS has worked with the GIZ-funded “Cooperative Technical and Vocational Education and Training” (cTVET) project on the capturing success stories of TVET graduates in Polytechnical college in Umnugobi province. The CSS has developed content on the vocational education value, advantage and impact based on existing cases and data from the graduates and delivered on the project’s objective to raise awareness of the needs and values of vocational education through promotion and communication.
