Board of Directors
BATBOLD Otgonbayar
Chair of the BoardMr. Batbold Otgonbayar is a researcher and specialist in mining governance, sustainable development, environmental policy, human rights, and gender issues in both national and international context contributing to policy development and implementation. Since 2019, he has served as Chair of the Board of the Council for Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility (CSS), where he leads strategic initiatives focused on responsible mining and community development. He has professional experience working with government institutions and international organizations in Germany, Cambodia, and Mongolia. Mr. Batbold is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Speyer University in Germany, conducting doctoral research on “Mining and Communities: Establishing Community Development Agreements.”
OTGONTUYA Gongor
Vice Chair of the BoardMs. Otgontuya Gongor is a communications and corporate responsibility expert with over two decades of experience in public relations, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable development, particularly in the mining sector. From 2012 to 2024, she served as Social Responsibility and Public Relations Manager at Energy Resources LLC, where she led initiatives to promote responsible mining practices, introduce international standards, and strengthen stakeholder and community relations. Prior to that, she worked with the Mongolian Red Cross Society as Leader of the Information and Dissemination Program, and later with UNDP Mongolia as a Specialist in the Microinsurance Project. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the National University of Mongolia and a MBA from the University of Finance and Economics of Mongolia.
Altanbagana Bayarsaikhan
Board MemberMr. Altanbagana Bayarsaikhan is a development professional with over 20 years of experience in project management, government and community relations, and corporate communications. He is currently engaged in an international environmental program focusing on policy reforms, sustainable development, and promoting responsible mining practices. Previously, he held senior roles at SouthGobi Sands LLC and Development Solutions NGO, where he led large-scale donor-funded projects that supported thousands of businesses. He is an alumnus of the University of Manchester.
BATKHUU Tserenbyambaa
Board MemberMr. Batkhuu Tserenbyambaa is a seasoned expert in foreign policy and sustainable development, with over 20 years of experience across government, the UN, and the mining sector. He currently serves as Director of Sustainable Development at Khurgatai Khairkhan LLC, leading responsible growth initiatives in mining. His previously worked at the Mongolian President’s Office, Municipal Government of Ulaanbaatar City, and UNDP. He spent 14 years at Thiess Mongolia managing government and community relations. Mr. Batkhuu holds degrees in International Relations from institutions in Mongolia and Japan.
Bayarjargal Batsukh
Member of the BoardMr. Bayarjargal Batsukh is the CEO of Greentrends LLC, one of Mongolia’s leading environmental consulting firms. With over 14 years of experience, he is recognized as a leading expert in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Mining Environmental Management, and Environmental Compliance in Mongolia. His professional background spans biodiversity research, environmental education, community development, corporate social responsibility, and environmental and social impact assessment. Bayarjargal has worked with a wide range of organizations, including international and national research and development institutions, NGOs, mining companies, and consulting firms. Since 2014, he has led or participated in more than 100 Environmental Impact Assessment studies across Mongolia. In addition to his consulting work, he has been a member of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism’s working group to strengthen national EIA legislation since May 2021
Bulgan Batdorj
Board MemberMs. Bulgan Batdorj is a PhD researcher at the University of British Columbia’s Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability. With over 15 years of experience in mining policy and governance, her research focuses on transparency, trust, and sustainable resource management in Mongolia and internationally. Since 2022, she has served as a board member of CSS, contributing her expertise in mining governance, collaborative approaches, and policy analysis to advance the organization’s mission. She holds an MBA and a Master of Applied Science from UBC’s School of Mining Engineering.
SUNJIDMAA Jamba
Board MemberMs. Sunjidmaa Jamba is a Founding Board Member, and leads and contributes to the Council's strategy and activities on sustainability, multi stakeholders partnership and engagement, ESG, community relations and energy transition. She has rich experiences of working in international development and financial institutions, and in the executive management in large companies with FDI.

ARIUNTUYA Nominkhuu
Executive DirectorMs. Ariuntuya Nominkhuu is a seasoned journalist and media professional with expertise in mining and economic reporting. Since 2019, she has led the Council for Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility NGO as Executive Director, overseeing initiatives in vocational education, research, and monitoring within the mining sector. She is also the Co-founder, CEO, and Editor-in-Chief of Mining Insight magazine, where she continues to contribute to informed public discourse on responsible mining and sustainable development.
BOLORTUVSHIN Altangerel
Finance OfficerMs. Bolortuvshin Altangerel is a finance and accounting professional with eight years of experience in corporate finance, auditing, and financial operations. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Audit from Mandakh Accounting University and a Certified Lead Auditor credential under the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. Her previous roles include Senior Accountant at Minii Delguur and Chief Accountant at Khalkh Mongol Holdings, where she oversaw finance, administration, and HR functions.
UUGANBAYAR Damdinsuren
Umnugobi Branch ManagerMr. Uuganbayar Damdinsuren is a public administration and management professional with a background in local governance and development policy. He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Public Administration and Management from the National University of Mongolia and Royal International University, respectively. His also completed advanced training at the Academy of Management, where he specialized in Local Administrative Organizations and Development Policy. In addition, he is a Certified Lead Auditor under the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
